Strange, I know, not many women in this field, but here I am. I started working for EK in January of 1993 and realize as I write this that time FLIES!
I started out answering the phone and EK told me that he would keep me "as long as he could find something for me to do." In 1999, we found
ourselves firing our only mechanic other than EK and it was just before season hit. Believe it or not, between me and EK, we turned more boats that year than
he had with two other mechanics.
I still get the guys that call up and assume I'm clueless, but I find it amusing now rather than offending. So, bring it on. :) Been around these guys
long enough to have thick skin.
